Through 2024, the U.S. Congressional Joint Committee on Taxation projects foregone tax revenues from federal plug-in electric vehicle tax credits of $7 billion. Were the EV tax credit provisions of the Build Back Better Act enacted, total foregone tax revenues would reach $27.1 billion over the 2022–2031 period.
