On Wednesday, September 30, 2026, EPRINC hosted a six-member delegation of Ukrainian local officials visiting under the U.S. Department of State’s International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP). The visit was designed to introduce the delegation to U.S. energy markets and policy.
The delegates, regional council members responsible for energy, economic development, and local business development, represent mid-size municipalities across Ukraine, including the Chernihiv, Odesa, Zhytomyr, Rivne, and Kyiv regions.
Max Pyziur led EPRINC’s presentation and the discussion that followed. Over nearly two hours, he covered energy security frameworks and geopolitical considerations, and gave an overview of U.S. natural gas, petroleum, and electricity markets and policies.
EPRINC Distinguished Fellow Glen Sweetnam also briefed the delegation on emerging European Union regulations and their potential impact on both U.S. and Ukrainian businesses.
